    Individual guest reviews

    • Older travelers

It was lovely and quiet. We were left alone to relax in our own time. The location was ideal for our visit to family on Anglesey. The full english breakfast was delicious and excellent value. Thank you

We tried to use our laptop but apart from a very brief signal connection we couldn't check out the internet. This was disappointing as we had looked forward to using the computer to contact family. The weather was drizzly rain and low cloud but little wind .

Sorry - it was very average and not good value for money. See below.

It was shabby; even though the fire doors were hinged, they banged loudly right outside our bedroom. The bathroom door didn't close without a good pull and shove. The mirror on the dressing-table was leaning at an angle. No hair dryer. The central heating wasn't on at all, even tho' it was a very chilly couple of days. (And two other hotels we stayed at in the following couple of days did have their CH on).

The hotel was also a country pub and it was good to be able to enjoy a drink in the bar in a nice atmosphere. The location was quiet and very well situated for our visit.

The staff were very welcoming to myself and my 15 year old son. The food was incredibly delicious, there was what seemed to be a long wait for the food but that was because they cooked it freshy to order instead of microwaved mush that you can get at other places. The portions were large and all good quality food. The room was very clean and well laid out, the radiator was welcome after a cold day on the mountain and the bedding was clean and fresh.

There was a little mould on the silicone sealant around the bathroom that made it look tired but was sparkly clean and a lovely shower was had.

Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent food, both for dinner and at breakfast. Good location for visiting Anglesey.

Rooms could do with updating. Bed very uncomfortable and lumpy. Main railway line very close to hotel with trains running most of the night.

The food was excellent. It was costly, at around £12 a dish, but I think you definitely get your money's worth!

The rooms were clean but basic, roughly equivalent to university dorm rooms. It is quite some distance from Bangor.

      the food was vey good

A round of 2 drinks cost different each time you went to the bar depending on who served you.

I loved the peace and tranquillity of the location. The trains were barely noticeable. There was plenty of car parking space too.The room was very warm and the staff were friendly and helpful. The vegetarian breakfast was really good.

The floorboards in the room creaked and also the floorboards in the corridor. The upstairs exit door tended to bang shut each time someone came in or out - (at 3.30am and at 6am during my stay)!

Friendly atmosphere, Fantastic food at value prices. Pretty settings. Cottage feel.

The rooms were spacious and very clean

Attitude of staff when stalking you for payment of food bill and drinks while letting other guests go to their room and pay in the morning !

Quality of breakfast food and breakfast service.

The matress needs replacing it left me with back ache and the floor boards by the bed creaked badly making it difficult to get up without making a noise and disturbing other users. The stair access, door closer, is inefficient allowing the door to slam waking me on two occasions.

rrom very cold when we got there and even with rad on didnt improve

The staff were friendly and great, the food was very nice and the beds comfy.

Lack of rail or hooks to hang towels after use. This may have been me but I was cold in my room with the heating on and whilst wearing layers and I had took my water bottle anyway but after being asleep for a few hours I did warm up and got rid of layers and hotwater bottle

No ambiance or welcoming feeling. Breakfast and accommodation scraped in as just adequate for £45 per night (£35 - £40 max would have been a more realistic rate).

Very close to a fast railway track.
